It's an age old truth that individuals in relationships always "look" better than those who are single. Well thats the argument this morning between my colleagues and i. This interesting phenomenan can be traced back to the early days when our forebearers frocklicked in a little garden known as Eden. I'm not gonna go into the nitty gritty of the tale, just know it involved some fruit, a reptile and some scantily clad individuals. The bottom line is that they were told to avoid the fruit and they couldnt....why? Because, lets face it. we all want what we can't have!
However, i am a strong believer of the whole Karma effect...ie Coveting thy neighbour's goods will have dire repercussions in the future.
Moral of the Story: If a guy with dodgy snakeskin boots tries to coerce you into sampling some Opal Fruit products....RUN...RUN for the Hills. Better yet, stop checking out the hot dude/chick who are soooooooooo off bounds.

Like the Beatle's song goes, "Its been a Hard Day's Night, and i've been working like a dog." This week, workwise that is, it's "a danger!". I've been seeing fires, very early mornings (at work by 6.45am) and very late evenings. Honestly, this weekend is all about catching up on my zzz's. At least i am not alone, i have others suffering with me :-)
Am catching up on some office gossip by the coffee-maker, scandal scandal scandal. It seems the whole favouritism thing has been nipped in the bud! About bloody time, honestly, it was getting a bit much...being passed over for the cool assigments was just not cool. So once again, justice is served and all is well in the world...well for now anyway.
Irritating song stuck in my head this morning: PCD's "Push my Buttons" *arrggh*

I wish i had wild stories to tell y'all about my weekends but strangely enough...it was absolutely useless. Spent most of it having "quality time" with the family, catching bits and pieces of soccer games played over the weekend & being subjected to listen to Bubba Sparx's "Miss New Booty" track over & over again.
To add insult to injury, i get into work this morning and am bombarded with all this work... i hate being a minion to "The Man".
Song of the Day: Bubba Sparx "Miss New Booty" *no surprises*

Hoza Friday! The weekend is upon us, Amen! I'll be the first to admit that it hasnt been the most taxing week on earth but at least i get to lie-in tomorrow morning :-)
Weekend plans...none as yet, but this is how it usually goes, the calm before the storm. On the plus side my other sister is home for the weekend, so it's a full house which should be very interesting. Hope you have a safe & fun-filled weekend.

Ever had that feeling right before you get outta bed, somewhere between the moment you are fully conscious & the last remnants of your REM cycle, that today is not gonna be a good day....i had that feeling first thing this morning. It's like the lyrics from that Phantom Planet song, "I could tell from the moment i woke up its gonna be a lonely, lonely, lonely, lonely day." Then again you could argue that its only 9.30am & i have yet to have my first cuppa coffee so it's a bit too early to judge the world through the-glass-is-half-empty eyes. The days hasnt been a total write-off, i did wake up and realise that my lil' sis is home from uni in Oz! Its always great to have her home, not only does she tilt the oestrogen balance in the house to our favour, but she's a laugh a minute. Literally 15mins after she jumped off the plane last nite she was bombarding us with random medical facts, just think, another 4yrs and we've a doctor in the house. Okay, i'm gonna get that much needed dose of caffeine (creme & 2 sugars just in case you're asking) & listen to a little Katie Melua. Have a sunshiny day :-)

This blog post was actually suggested by a colleague....a male colleague, surprisingly! With the Metrosexual Age upon us and David Beckham masquerading in skirt as the mascot, its not surprising that this is a question commonly asked by women and men alike. Don't get me wrong, i'm all for men getting in touch with their feminine side, blah, blah, blah....there're just limits! Gone are the days of the Marlboro man (sans the cigarette smoke)who used to be the icon of all real man (excluding the cigarette smoke) ie: a little hard to read, not really concerned with what he looks like...but still managed to look good anyway, a man's man. Alas, Marlboro man is no more, towards the late 90's and early millenium he died a rather ugly, emphysematic death....hehehehe. Gender roles and definitions are all up in the air, nothing wrong with that, just please, please, please don't start borrowing my nail varnish and foundation! Enuff said :-)

For whatever reason, i've totally missed out on the World Cup Soccer Fever bug! That was not the case back in 2002, i was a staunch supporter of Senegal and Brazil (who conveniently went to win the event). This time round, i'm more likely to be found watching Laguna Beach re-runs before moving to the sports channels. Most of the hype hasn't been completely lost on me...the hype coming in the delectable form of a certain Fabio Cannavaro....phwoar! Take a look for urself if you don't believe me.
